How do you make the perfect creamy protein porridge? I’m sharing with you my tips and tricks on how I make the perfect bowl.
Firstly pick your protein, pick a flavour you love, or if you’re not sure, use plain and add flavour and sweetness with your toppings. I like to use a flavour protein because it means adding less calories in my toppings as its already sweetened, but it’s totally up to you. In this bowl I’m using My protein chocolate peanut butter flavour.
Next, cook your oats in a pan, I use 40g oats and cover with water. Cook them until thick… this is crucial to get the protein powder to mix in well.
Now remove from the heat and add the protein powder (I use around 20g) and mix really well until thick! It’s important to remove from the heat otherwise the porridge will separate and go grainy (ewww!). Now if you like thick porridge, then your porridge is ready for toppings, if not then loosen with some water until you have your desired thickness.
Now the fun part… TOPPINGS!! I went all out on this bowl with, peanut butter, granola, banana and a little melted chocolate.
Let me know if you give this a go, I would love to see your version and combination!
